Your right it is the entire thing. I know its controversial but the very
fact that they had the audacity to introduce it is what disturbs me.
Something with this broad scope is always a bad warning sign. Check out
www.wired.com/news to see what most techies are thinking about it.

Bill--

Sorry I missed your follow-up call. I'm still researching this; but if you
would be so kind, please send me the specific areas of the bill which are
troubling to you. This would be very helpful to me. I realize, of course,
that
the entire thing may be the problem.

From what I have learned so far, this is a pretty controversial bill. This
leads me to believe that it would be some time before the Senate, or for
that
matter, the Commerce Committee takes any action (if any); particularly since
there are only 5 cosponsors at this point.

I'll be in touch again soon.

Thanks.

Chris

We are still trying to agree on an official response to this issue
because
we are an informal collection of individuals its hard to get everybody
together at any one time. This would effect me directly making what I do as
a programmer illegal with out bowing to government oversight on top of that
Linux would also become illegal in its current form. This is big government
at its worst. It will stop development of technology for the fear of
prosecution.

Bill:

Thanks for the call. Sen. Murkowski does not have a position on this bill
yet
as it was just introduced today. However, I will definitely take a look at
it
and get back to you sometime in the next week.

Also, any info. you have on how this bill would affect Alaska or your
organization's position would be very appreciated.

Thanks.
